Congressman Moskowitz Issues Statement Following Arrest of Individual Who Threatened His Life

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Jared Moskowitz (FL-23) released the following statement after an individual was arrested in Boca Raton for threatening his life:

“A constituent of mine has just been arrested in Boca Raton, just a few miles from my house, for threatening my life. He is currently in the Palm Beach County Jail. I’m grateful to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and local law enforcement for acting quickly to keep my family and me safe.”

This is not the first time Congressman Moskowitz has faced threats against his life. In 2024, authorities uncovered a potential assassination plot involving an armed individual who had included the Congressman on a list of targets alongside Jewish institutions and other locations. During the arrest, authorities discovered firearms, body armor, and a manifesto containing antisemitic rhetoric. The individual was subsequently sentenced to 25 years in federal prison. Following the incident, Congressman Moskowitz and his family have been under heightened security protection, including a law enforcement presence at their residence and additional security measures during public appearances.

The Congressman and his office remain in communication with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and local authorities regarding this matter. The office will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
